Welcome to our First Grade class at Cahoon Elementary Magnet School! We have a busy and very exciting school year in store for us! Before I give you a preview of some of my classroom policies let me introduce myself. My name is Melanie Mochan, this is my first year teaching elementary school, as I just graduated with a Bachelors of Science in Elementary Education from the University of South Florida. I am prepared to come into the classroom with creative and effective teaching strategies that will help your child soar to the top. I believe First Grade is a very thrilling time for your child as they will embark on new adventures, gain new academic skills, and acquire new tools to succeed in life. This year will be one of important transitions, in which your child will learn how to read, write stories, add and subtract, and discover so much about themselves as well. I have a true love for teaching and I hope to instill a love for learning that will last throughout your child’s years of schooling.
